REVIEW: Bourjois - Effet 3D lip gloss

I would just like to put this on the record that this lip gloss actually does last for 8 hours! This is the main reason for me doing a review on it i'm not going to lie.

I actually found this lip gloss in one of my old bags that I was giving away and when I looked through all the side pockets, I found this. To be honest, I was expecting it to be rubbish because I remember buying it in Tenerife about a year ago because I had gone out for a meal and had forgotten to take my lip gloss with me (a night-mare at the time) and so I jumped into the nearest drug store and bought a lip gloss. I used it once and threw it into my bag, which apparently hasn't been used since then, and completely I forgot about it.

Anyway, I tried the lip gloss on and it felt like a normal lip gloss, not sticky or especially silky, it didn't have a strong scent, so I put it on my bedside table. About 4/5 hours later I noticed that my lip gloss hadn't worn off yet and felt as though I had just applied it. I had drank a full glass of water since then but hadn't eaten anything. I picked up the lip gloss and read that it said 8hrs on it, so obviously I put it to the test,  wiping off the lip gloss that was still on my lips and reapplied just before I went to sleep (about 11pm). When I woke up at 6.30 the next day to get ready for school, my lip gloss was smudged and had lost most of it's sparkle but still felt freshly applied.

I would really recommend this product to wear on top of your lipstick to help it to last for a long time because it doesn't wear throughout the day.  Having said that, I haven't tried wearing this product when eating so you may have to re-apply after a meal but that can be said for pretty much any lip product.

I would say the downsides to this product are the fact that it is not particularly moisturizing  (my lips don't feel any different after I take it off) and the sparkly-ness of it. If you are looking for a really sparkly lip gloss then this is absolutely perfect for you, don't even look at another product! Hwever, if you don't really want a super-sparkly lip gloss then you might not like this one. Mine is in the shade 48 which is a natural pink colour and I couldn't wear it alone.  Like I said before, when it's worn over a lipstick, it looks fantstic it's just when it doesn't have anything under it that it looks a little odd.
